Like most girls, I find braving the bright colours and bold prints of the spring/summer catalogue pretty intimidating. And, like most girls, I find that nudes and monochromes are a timeless look. Sometimes, though, I can feel a little uninteresting- not as ‘with the times’ as I’d like to be. But now, I’ve found the perfect compromise.
Adding a pop of colour to your spring wardrobe is easy- wear it on your face! Kate Moss for Rimmel London has released a new series of lipsticks- and they’re lovely. Five new colours have been introduced, and I am in LOVE with the bold pink, shade 20. It has a purple-blue undertone, which also gives the impression of whiter teeth (blue and yellow are opposites on the colour wheel- science!) It’s definitely a statement colour, but also very feminine and pretty and I don’t feel too audacious wearing it, which is great for a colour rookie like myself.
The matte texture is great, it doesn’t clump or stick, and it feels very smooth. It does tend to dry up quite quickly though, even if the colour isn’t fading (which it won’t, because the colour retention with this lipstick is incredible). This isn’t too much of a disadvantage though, as I think this is always a risk with matte lipsticks. You can also just top it up with a lick of lip balm and it still maintains its matte look.
What I love most, about this lipstick, though, is just how high quality it is for such a small price! It’s £5.49 RRP, but it’s often on sale in high-street shops such as Boots and Superdrug, so don’t hesitate to shop around! This lipstick is just as poppin’, just as smooth and just as long lasting as its counterparts that are quadruple the price. In other words- BUY IT!
